1932
The KNAUF group was born in 1932 driven by two entrepreneurial brothers, Karl and Alfons KNAUF. Two young mining engineers who decided to face their first industrial challenge, who founded Gebrüder KNAUF, a company specialised in the extraction and exploitation of gypsum.
1958
In 1958, the company started the industrial production of gypsum boards.

Nowadays, it is cousins Nikolaus and Baldwin Knauf who run this large family business from their headquarters in Iphofen.
